Our history
Jumanne Kigobela Masonda, raised in a rural village in southern Tanzania, overcame significant challenges to pursue education, inspired by his brother. His educational journey took him through Sokoine University of Agriculture, where he earned a B.Sc. in Wildlife Management and completed an Entrepreneurship Course. Jumanne’s career spans roles as a Research Assistant at the Ministry of Natural Resources & Tourism, a Secondary School Teacher, and a Naturalist Guide and Tour Director for various Tanzanian and international companies. He is the Managing Director of Sable Wildlife Training Centre Ltd., established in 2006, dedicated to enhancing Tanzania’s tourism industry through quality education in hospitality and tourism.
Jumanne has also held notable leadership positions, including a Board Member at Sokoine University of Agriculture and Vice Chairman of Tanzania Tour Guides. His commitment extends to community service as General Secretary of the Union of Iringa Region People in Arusha (UWAMI). Outside of his professional life, Jumanne enjoys hiking, photography, bird watching, reading, travel, and soccer. He lives by the philosophies of expecting the unexpected in travel and being a positive change in others’ lives, continually striving to create opportunities for employment and education in Tanzania’s tourism sector.

In 2021 my daughter and I went to Kenya/Tanzania in a safari tour. We have travel to all 7 continents with few tour companies. But in this specific trip we were very lucky to have Jumanne Masonda team leader of our group of 8 people. I have never encountered a team leader that have His all-around knowledge and costumer care. In the not so far future, we will come back to Kenya again, and do another tour with Masonda.
Masonda is a truly outstanding guide and leader. He has a deep knowledge of wildlife and culture, and an excellent eye for tiny fascinating things (e.g., birds you might notice on your own). He also takes beautiful (close-up) wildlife photos if you have an unsteady hand. The Kenya/Tanzania trip we took with him surpassed all expectations.
We went to Kenya and Tanzania in 2022. Jumanne Masonda was our tour guide. The trip was amazing and one of our favorites. As all season travelers know, the tour director can make or break a trip. Masonda was excellent, knowledgeable, and ensured everyone had a great time. He helped with taking pictures and could identify every type of bird and animal. When our bus driver got sick, he drove the vehicle. When we had a flat tire on the safari vehicle, he hustled with the driver to change the tire. After we were home, I had questions on some of my pictures. I emailed Masonda, he was quick to respond with answers. This is an example of his great customer service. I highly recommend Masonda to everyone wanting to experience a great trip!
From our first meeting and throughout the 3 weeks, our small group of 9 people were well cared for and given continual opportunities to experience Africa from animals to culture and anything in-between. Our African safari, under Masonda's expert knowledge and leadership, exceeded all of our expectations. Our accommodations were comfortable and as interesting as the people we met. Each day gave us new opportunity to see lions, monkeys, cheetahs, hippos and so much more. We were amazed at the delicious and fun meals regardless of being at our evening lodging or out on the safari. The expert and curteous quallties of Masonda and all our guides made our trip a lifelong, fabulous series of memories. We loved ever moment!
